This is two of my hand drawn images overlaid on top of the portrait taken of the foot tunnel at Woolwich, next to the River Thames. Looking at the final image which is presented, there is a huge contrast between the background and the foreground. The reason behind this, was the to bring the hand drawn image to be the main centre focus point while having the background fading away almost like disappearing into the mist or fog. The other reason for this was, that where the model is most likely to be placed and instead cutting the background picture out and ruining the portrait. I decide to leave it beneath the model to show a before and after image of how it would look like.
The hand drawn image is a drawing of my model, which tries to communicate a new foot tunnel which goes under the River Thames. In this particular drawing, it shows the outside entrance/exit for my tunnel fitting perfectly into on site grounds. Looking at the design and shape of it, the drawing looks computer generated using software such as Google sketch- up when in fact; it was created using simply pencil and paper and then scanned in using third-party software. This will give you just the outline of the drawing and like image being scanned; I then edited the drawing on Adobe Photoshop, making the outline thicker and more visible using the line tool and also adding colour to each of the sections using paint bucket. Alternatively, this can be done on Windows Paint which would take longer but for a person who would like to keep it simply and not spend a lot of money on expensive software. There always is that other option if Adobe Photoshop is not available.
